These photos are from the original church of Biassa, San Martino. The town where it was located was known as ‘Rocca Nera’ (Black Rock). It was one of the first and places inhabited in the area and was very powerful at the time as the church had a domed roof. The church would have been built around 800AD. At the time, there was no Biassa, none of the towns in Cinque Terre and no La Spezia. It was also built before the castle in Biassa. I've lived in Italy for five years now and I never get bored exploring. No two towns are the same - every place you visit is so unique. This series of artworks was created in the ancient little town of Biassa, set on the mountainside behind Cinque Terre. With a population of around 500, Biassa is the oldest town in the area with some of the buildings dating back to around 1200AD. This is the place I now call home in Italy. I am still awestruck every time I go for a walk through the town.

This artwork will be printed on fine art photographic rag - a fine art photographic paper with a beautiful, soft, smooth texture. The colours will be vibrant and pop right off the paper. If you like the artwork on the screen, you will absolutely love it in real life - the screen cannot do justice to how it will look when printed!

  • Fine art print (200gsm)
  • A museum-quality fine art print paper with a textured, matt finish.

Please note: The photograph will be printed on the paper size of your choosing with a fine white border around the edge. Please visit 'Paper Sizes and Framing' for more information.
